Start Spreading the News…

Next Stop, New York! At least we know Curlin won’t get this muddy on the Turf! (Charles Pravata)
Because NYRA won’t be. (note: link also doubles as excellent promotion for Self Appointed Fan Committee, something else you could start spreading the news about… ahem).
Certainly not news now, but Curlin is cleared to run in New York! Which is great news if you’re a New Yorker and can make it to Belmont this Saturday!
It’s interesting to note what a deal Jess Jackson got on his 80% of Curlin, the equivalent of H&M for champion thoroughbreds with a bright future as a stallion.
Many thanks to those who have been plugging Self Appointed Fan Committee and those who have made submissions!
Keep those grievances coming!

I don’t think Jackson got 80% of Curlin for $2.6M. That was the price paid after his maiden win in the spring. Padua and George Bolton also had shares, and Midnight Cry kept 20%. Later in the year Jackson bought out Bolton and Padua, but surely for a lot more than $2.6M.

congrats on being able to see Curley run this weekend. my brother is gonnna go out there to see him. Im betting against him though, it’s the most logical time to take a stand against him.
the Zenyatta in the Classic pole received alot more ‘no way’ votes since this past saturday. Not her greatest performance, unrealistic to think she will dominate eveytime out. But, she did sustain a long run, and she found a way to win.
ljk - thanks for digging that up! on a side bar I hope you’ll make your way over to SAFC and make a submission about banning the whip (and anything else you can think of, of course!)
c - thx, I’m looking forward to it… I was always a little annoyed with myself for not going over there on Jockey Club day. I’m waiting to see the pps before I decide what I’m doing. Hey, I think you were there on Jockey Club day because you got a great shot of Fabulous Strike in the Vosburgh!
Yeah, the ‘no ways’ picked up a lot after Saturday. after watching the race a couple of more times I think Tough Tiz’s Sis was the best but I still think Zenyatta is pretty fierce!
Yep, I got to shoot Curlin in the JCGC and the Breeders Cup/ Might not have the chance again.
