New Poll, HOY So Far

Zenyatta after winning the Clement Hirsch (Charles Pravata)
After bitching yesterday about how boring it is read about Curlin vs. Big Brown for HOY I decided that I wanted to see how many other people would pick Zenyatta over them.
In our last poll, 31 of you said that the NTRA should market to any and all groups of people (a point of view I share), 14 of you said they should market specifically to sports fans, 3 of you said that they should market to known gamblers as well 3 for puzzle solvers. 2 of you said they should go after day trippers and not one single person said they should market to millennials.
As always, thanks for participating!

she needs to remain undefeated and win the distaff, and curlin and brown need to fail at winning the classic for her to win horse of the year.
Fair point nature boy and the more I thought about it today the more I realized that what’s really bugging me is the she’s just not even part of the discussion. It’s only “which one do we pick if they both run in the Classic and neither of them win?”. Total bullshit in my opinion.
What if Curlin doesn’t run in the Classic, BB wins it + Zenyatta stays undefeated including the F&M Classic? My vote would be Zenyatta.
Substitute Curlin for BB in the same scenario and it would be a tough call for me (if there’s no Zenyatta in the equation Curlin gets my vote period).
If Zenyatta loses her next prep, wins the F&M Classic and neither BB or Curlin win the Classic, I’d vote for Zenyatta in that instance too.
If either of the boys win the classic, HOY is theirs regardless of what the Amazon Queen does. I would love to see her face them, but, that won’t happen. I really respect John Shireffs as a trainer. He does the right thing by his horses.
Oh nature boy, you’re bringing me down! :)
I ran in to this one at the dog run after work and had a lengthy discussion about HOY, and other other things. Sigh
I agree with Nature Boy but no need to be down, Dana.
Zenyatta’s trainer has her back, that’s most important, and if things go slightly awry, the 50-Foot Woman can still be the HOY vey.

Well, yes… I always appreciate a trainer having a horse’s back. I’m still wow-ed/happy about Barry Irwin/Team Valor not pointing Visionaire towards the BC because there isn’t a race that’s right for him. Very classy.
And thanks for illuminating the POV of why the 50ft woman isn’t being included in the discussion… HOY vey!
