Will Borel & Letterman Pull a Madonna?

Borel strikes a pose on the gallop out at Churchill (Kincsem15)

Word is out that Calvin Borel will join David Letterman on the Late Show during Belmont week.

One can only hope that Letterman, who enjoys horseback riding, would be willing to ride with Calvin the way he rode with Madonna in 2005!

The fun starts at 3:37:

Think of the fun the two could have galloping down 53rd street. I doubt Calvin would be phased by Letterman’s race riding technique and could definitely teach him a thing or two. Personally I think there’s potential for comedic genius afoot. Fingers crossed!

New York in the House!

She’s All Eltish blew my trifecta but I was still jumping up and down like a crazy person over Channing Hill’s killer ride on Sweet Vendetta.

Now y’all know why New Yorkers talk about Channing Hill so much! I also thought he did a great job in front of the camera in his interview with Jerry Baily.

And David Cassidy… who knew?

Desperate Horseplayers

I love finding out that celebrities are horseplayers, in particular, lady celebrities. Today equidaily pointed to this item about Terry Hatcher of Desperate Housewives fame.

Apparently, every Mother’s Day, the Desperate Housewives star takes her mom and her daughter to Hollywood Park for some live racing action

If that’s not excellent, I don’t know what is! Other lady horseplayers include Christina Ricci and the late Elizabeth Montgomery.

She Just Needs Some Practice!

Don’t ask me how I found this item, but as it turns out Christina Ricci likes to play the ponies! Apparently a trip to Australia was all the young starlet needed to “learn to love playing the ponies”. Maybe we oughta send more people to Australia.

“I have no strategy (with horses) and I never pick winners,” she says. “But it’s still fun.”

That’s the spirit! Here’s to hoping she learns how to read The Form and turns into a lifelong fan!
